Temporary parking changes at Hamilton General Hospital
HAMILTON, ON – Starting on June 22, the Victoria Avenue parking garage at Hamilton Health Sciences’ Hamilton General Hospital will be closed until mid-October 2026 for essential structural and waterproofing repairs.
Alternative parking:
Patient and visitor parking will be temporarily located at the Ron Joyce Children’s Health Centre (RJCHC) parking lot on Wellington Street North. The lot is accessible from Wellington Street North and Barton Street East. Pay stations are located at the exit gates (if paying by credit or debit) and in the lobby of RJCHC (if paying by cash).
Shuttle from alternative parking:
A free shuttle will run every 15 minutes (7:30 a.m.–8 p.m.) between the RJCHC lot and M-McMaster entrance at the Hamilton General Hospital. Volunteers will be on-site to assist.
Accessible parking:
Accessible parking is available at the Regional Rehabilitation Centre parking lot located off Birge Street, with access to Hamilton General Hospital via a second-floor bridge. Please note that this is a pay-and-display lot, enforced by the City of Hamilton – tickets must be displayed in vehicles. Payment can be made using debit or credit.
Patients and visitors are asked to allow extra time for parking and travel to appointments. Information is being shared with patients, and signage has been posted.
Hamilton Health Sciences thanks all patients, visitors, staff, physicians and volunteers for their patience as these necessary repairs are made.
